Jessi Ngatikaura has opened up about her unexpected wardrobe change for the upcoming Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion.
On December 1, the reality star discussed her last-minute dress alteration, revealing it was made just 12 hours prior to the taping. She expressed disappointment with her final ensemble.
“They released our reunion looks, and obviously, I was horrified by the photos like we are every year,” Ngatikaura explained in her clip, noting that photos are taken after long days when everyone is fatigued.
About a month before the reunion, set to air on Hulu on December 4, she organized a mood board to ensure the cast’s outfits would be visually cohesive.
“I was texting the girls … suggesting we should have a color scheme,” she shared, noting a previous reunion where the cast’s styles varied too widely. “Not to diss on anyone’s look because we all looked great, but together our dresses did not flow, and that really bugged me.”

She shared a holiday-inspired color palette featuring deep reds, golds, and olive greens for the reunion.
Ngatikaura initially planned her look the moment the reunion date was announced. “I had this dress that I thought was amazing, and I was holding onto it for something special,” she said, sharing a striking photo of herself in a red strapless gown.
She was the first cast member to submit her outfit for approval, feeling eager and excited about the selection.
However, just hours before the event, she received a call from production requiring her to change her dress. “Twelve hours before the reunion, I get a call from production and they were like, ‘You need to change your dress,'” she recalled.

The reasoning behind this change was that reunion host Stassi Schroeder planned to wear a similar neckline and color. “This is no shade to Stassi; she’s the queen and she deserves it,” Ngatikaura clarified.
After submitting additional options, the production team chose a white dress adorned with sparkling embellishments.

“They ended up choosing the white and glitter dress, which I wouldn’t have chosen,” Ngatikaura noted. “I was really sad about it, but the show must go on, and I’m a team player, so that’s what I ended up wearing. It was fine; my hair and makeup were great, and I loved my jewelry. It worked out.”
Fans did not hold back on their opinions regarding the wardrobe change, with comments ranging from criticism of the decision to praise Ngatikaura’s status on the show.
“Making YOU change instead of the host is insane behavior on Hulu’s part,” one user commented, while another asserted, “Should have made Stassi change. You’re the star, especially this season.”
