Jessi Ngatikaura Reflects on the Season 3 Reunion Photos of Mormon Wives
Jessi Ngatikaura Addresses Reunion Photo Backlash on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
In a recent TikTok post, Jessi Ngatikaura, a star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, candidly expressed her dismay over reunion photos that were shared by the show’s production team. The 32-year-old reality star described her reaction to the images as "horrified," stating that they were taken at the end of a long and emotionally taxing shooting day.
“They make us take the photos at the end of the day when we’re all so done,” she shared. “When you watch the reunion, you’re gonna know why I feel the way I do.” Jessi noted that after filming what she described as an “explosive” reunion, the last thing anyone felt like doing was smiling for the camera.
Jessi also highlighted her commitment to improving the situation for future events. “Next year we’re gonna make sure we take really good photos and hopefully those are the ones they use,” she added.
Reflecting on her personal style, she mentioned hiring a stylist post-reunion and shared details about her planned outfit. "For a month before the reunion, I was trying to put together mood boards,” she explained. Jessi communicated with her co-stars to establish a cohesive color scheme, which ultimately included burgundy, emerald, antique gold, sage green, ivory, and charcoal. “Last reunion some of us were in jewel tones, some were in pastel, the styles were all over the place," she noted.
Jessi had originally envisioned wearing a striking red dress with a sweetheart neckline—an outfit she paired with custom accessories for her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura. However, she recounted a last-minute change, revealing that producers requested her to switch her dress just 12 hours before the reunion due to a similar outfit choice by host Stassi Schroeder. Ultimately, she wore a white dress from her closet, which she felt was not in line with her personal taste.
“It’s not really what I would have worn for a reunion… and I was really, really sad about it,” Jessi admitted. Despite her disappointment, she remained a “team player.”
Jessi concluded her video by vowing that if there is another reunion in the future, she will work closely with a stylist to ensure her outfit is finalized well in advance, emphasizing that she won’t experience another last-minute alteration.
The shared photos have sparked comments from other cast members, many echoing Jessi’s sentiments. "I will never understand why you guys have us take these photos after a 12-hour day of screaming and crying,” she jokingly lamented. Fans have also voiced their concerns about the quality of the photos, with many agreeing that the lighting and angles did not showcase the cast to their best advantage.
