Jessi Draper Reflects on Past Choices After Two Challenging Marriages
Jessi Draper, star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is reflecting candidly on her past relationships following two divorces. In an Instagram video shared on April 6, Draper, 33, expressed her commitment to taking responsibility for her mistakes.
"I take full ownership over all the mistakes I’ve made and all the stupid decisions I’ve made, but I am realizing I can’t just get divorced and go live a normal life," she admitted. The candid moment comes weeks after her estranged husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce after five years of marriage. Draper was previously married to Zach Gish from 2014 to 2019.
Describing the experience as “weird,” Draper stated, "This is such a weird experience to go through, and I know a lot of you can relate… I just feel, like, really lost to be honest." She shares two children, Jagger, 5, and Jovi, 3, with Ngatikaura, and noted that navigating divorce with kids presents unique challenges.
Opening up to her 1.8 million followers, Draper labeled her two marriages as "emotionally unsafe." After spending a decade in these relationships, she mentioned developing various safety mechanisms and behavior patterns. "It’s crazy how getting out of that can kind of mess with your head a little bit," she explained. "I feel like I’m going through that right now. It’s kind of like a purging and a detox of the patterns that I’m used to.”
Draper announced her plan to attend a four-day therapy retreat, aiming to process her losses and focus on personal healing. "I’ve had the darkest days I’ve ever had in the last month and it’s been really rough," she shared, emphasizing the whirlwind of emotions she has experienced.
Recently, Draper was reportedly seen spending time with Marciano Brunette. However, she confirmed on Instagram that she is currently single and focused on having fun. "I want to enjoy life because I haven’t in so long," she said, while also expressing the importance of healing. "There’s no perfect way to handle divorce… I’ve received a lot of love and support… but I’ve also received a ton of hate and it’s totally warranted. I am trying to get through this the best possible way I can.”
