Jenny Daly Introduces Studio82 with a Focus on Creators and New Young Adult Division
EXCLUSIVE: Jenny Daly, the former President of Critical Content and A. Smith & Co. Productions, has announced the launch of her new venture, Studio82.
This initiative aims to produce both unscripted and scripted series and follows Daly’s departure from the company behind American Ninja Warrior five months ago. Studio82 will primarily focus on developing unscripted projects for creators and celebrities, alongside a dedicated scripted Young Adult division.
In a move reflecting her interest in the creator economy, Daly has partnered with Trusted Media Brand Studios, the publisher of Reader’s Digest, to adapt its intellectual property into series. She has also collaborated with industry veterans Sean Kelly and Steve Hughes, known for their work on popular shows like Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity? and Big Brother, to conceptualize new projects.
The strategy encompasses working with top creators emerging from these partnerships. Daly, who executive produced Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, currently in its fourth season, is also focusing on her scripted YA division.
Furthermore, she is collaborating with Peter Jaysen and Alan Gasmer from Veritas Entertainment, known for their production of Timothée Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown, on various scripted projects and documentaries.
During her tenure at Critical Content, Daly produced notable projects such as Netflix’s Sly, a documentary on Sylvester Stallone, Get Organized with The Home Edit, and E!’s Celebrity Game Face.
“I’m more than ready to be back in a position where I can steer my own ship and partner with talent to take storytelling to a new level,” Daly stated. “Studio82 is a space where collaboration with the best of the entertainment business is a key strategic element. Through undeniable content we are maximizing our pathway to success.”
