Jennifer Runyon, Beloved Actress from Ghostbusters and A Very Brady Christmas, Passes Away at 65
Jennifer Runyon, the actress celebrated for her roles in Ghostbusters and A Very Brady Christmas, has passed away at the age of 65 after a brief battle with cancer. Fellow actress and Bewitched star Erin Murphy shared the news on social media.
“So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. 💔 Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children,” Murphy wrote on Instagram.
Runyon’s career began in 1980, during which she appeared in television series such as The Fall Guy, Boone, and The Master. She also had a recurring role in the well-known NBC soap opera Another World. In 1984, she starred alongside Tim Matheson in the comedy Up the Creek, and that same year, she gained recognition in the classic film Ghostbusters, where she played a female student involved in a paranormal assessment.
In subsequent years, Runyon’s television appearances included roles in Magnum, P.I., Quantum Leap, Murder, She Wrote, and Beverly Hills, 90210. She also portrayed Gwendolyn Pierce in the first season of Charles in Charge, where she was the love interest of Scott Baio’s character.
Runyon took on the role of Cindy Brady in the 1988 TV movie A Very Brady Christmas, reuniting the iconic family for the holiday.
Born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Runyon married Todd Corman in 1991. He is a basketball coach, assistant director, and the nephew of actor Roger Corman. Together, they had two children: Wyatt and Bayley.
Bayley Corman, an actress known for her work on 9-1-1, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Jane the Virgin, posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother, expressing, “All of the best parts of me came from you. I would give anything for one more day together.”
