Jenna Johnson Shares Her Tour Experience, Traveling with Her Toddler, and Favorite Hair Tool
Jenna Johnson Embraces Simplified Beauty Routine with New Revlon Tool
Dancer, mother, and television personality Jenna Johnson, known for her stunning performances on Dancing With the Stars, is shifting her focus from the spotlight to a more streamlined beauty routine. Johnson has partnered with Revlon Hair Tools to introduce the new Revlon VersaStyler, a versatile styling device priced at $100.
“I think I’m labeled so much as the dancer Jenna, but I am so passionate about beauty in general,” Johnson said in a statement regarding her collaboration. “Revlon has just been at the top of my list of a dream brand to work with. When I was approached about helping them launch this new VersaStyler, I was like, ‘This is such an easy yes because I’m a big fan.’ I also really love their products. It just felt like a match made in heaven. I can’t believe that this is happening.”
For Johnson, who is currently on tour, the multitasking nature of the VersaStyler resonates deeply. This three-in-one tool allows users to dry, volumize, and achieve a polished blowout, all from one device. “I’m definitely not a hairstylist,” she acknowledged. “It’s always been intimidating for me to try to find those salon-worthy looks. I’m lucky that I get to work with incredible hairstylists for television, but when I’m just Jenna at home and I want incredible hair, I need tools that can give me that style.”
Johnson appreciates the simplicity of the VersaStyler, stating, “What I love about this product is that it’s a three-in-one tool where I can blow-dry, get volume and also use the heated barrel. I can achieve that beautiful blowout look without that intimidation behind it. I’ll actually be able to do it.”
Having spent years in front of cameras and under intense stage lights, Johnson has also developed strategies to make her hair last longer between washes. “In real life, I do love to protect my hair by not washing it so often,” she shared. “Dry shampoo and then going back in with a blowout look is great. I have really fine, flat hair, and honestly, the dirtier the hair, the better—it gives me more volume. That’s my secret!”
Her relationship with her hair has evolved alongside her career, which has included extensive training and competition, as well as her time on Dancing With the Stars. Today, she favors hairstyles that strike a balance between polished and approachable—looks that can transition seamlessly from rehearsals to her personal life.
Life on tour presents its own unique challenges. After each performance, Johnson often finds herself buzzing with adrenaline. “I feel like I’m still coming off a bunch of adrenaline from the past two hours of doing a full-out show,” she explained. “I shower at the venue—which is an experience in itself—do my little self-care routine, and then I come onto the bus.”
This tour holds a special significance for Johnson as she travels with her young son. “I’m in full mommy mode,” she said. “We’ve adapted my son to be on tour time, and it’s actually so special because I get to go to bed with him, even if it’s midnight sometimes. I love that we get those evening snuggles, reading stories and going to bed together on the tour bus.”
Describing her living situation on the road, Johnson humorously remarked that it resembles "glamping"—adventurous yet cozy. “It’s fun for a second and then you’re like, ‘Oh, I live on a bus,’” she noted. “But it’s really special to be able to do this as a family. I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world.”
