Jenna Burgess Becomes a Series Regular for the Fourth and Final Season of Yellowjackets
Jenna Burgess Elevated to Series Regular on Yellowjackets for Final Season
Jenna Burgess, who has portrayed the teenage version of Melissa in Yellowjackets since Season 2, has been promoted to a series regular for the show’s upcoming fourth and final season. Production for this season recently commenced in Vancouver.
Burgess has appeared in 20 episodes since 2023, bringing depth to her character, who navigates the complexities of survival amidst a group of girls stranded in the wilderness. Melissa emerges as a strong figure, characterized by her thoughtfulness, loyalty, and her ability to manage the shifting dynamics of power as the group confronts increasingly dire circumstances.
In the present timeline, Melissa is played by Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank, who joined the cast in Season 3. This adult version of Melissa grapples with the long-lasting effects of past traumas, which resurface in the wake of hidden secrets.
Yellowjackets, created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, tells the gripping story of a high school girls’ soccer team that survives a plane crash in the remote wilderness, leading to a descent into chaos and survival. The series juxtaposes the harrowing experiences during their time in the wild with their attempts to rebuild their lives nearly 25 years later, emphasizing how the past continues to haunt them.
The show reached new heights in Season 3, becoming the most-watched season to date. The finale in April 2025 set records as the most-streamed episode in the series’ history.
Season 4 will see continued leadership from Lyle, Nickerson, and Drew Comins of Creative Engine, along with other executive producers Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Julia Bicknell. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television.
Jenna Burgess is represented by Lindsay Whitaker at Alexander White Agency and Pacific Artists Management.
