Jeanie Buss Supports a Candidate in the Busy LA Mayoral Race
Buss Endorses Pratt in LA Mayoral Race
LOS ANGELES — Jeanie Buss, the governor of the Los Angeles Lakers, has reportedly made a significant financial contribution to Spencer Pratt’s campaign for mayor, donating the maximum allowable amount of $1,800 under local election laws.
While Buss has not publicly endorsed any candidate in the competitive race to replace incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, her donation adds weight to Pratt’s campaign. Currently, Pratt and LA City Councilwoman Nithya Raman are leading in fundraising as they prepare for the upcoming June 2 primary. Recent polls suggest that the election may necessitate a runoff in November, as no candidate is expected to secure over 50% of the vote.
As of now, Pratt has raised nearly $540,000 since the start of the year. He announced his candidacy a year after the Palisades Fire, which devastated parts of the city.
As the race intensifies, candidates are gearing up for a potentially contentious primary, with Pratt emerging as a prominent contender alongside Raman.
