Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany have teamed up for their first duet over a decade into their marriage. On January 9, the couple released “Easier Gone” as part of a bundle including two other tracks from Aldean’s forthcoming album.
The ballad narrates an unexpected encounter with an ex-partner at a bar, capturing the emotional turmoil it brings. Aldean reflects on the experience, wishing he had never seen her. In the opening verse, he sings:
“I wish I didn’t know your name / Wish you were just another stranger / So you walkin’ in this bar wouldn’t put my broken heart in danger.”

The couple harmonizes in the chorus, expressing their lingering emotions:
“You were easier gone / You were easier outta this town / Hey, I almost had this lettin’ you go thing figured out.”
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Brittany, who previously sought a career in music. She was a contestant on season 11 of American Idol, reaching Hollywood Week before her elimination.
Following the release, Jason shared behind-the-scenes photos from the studio on Instagram, stating, “You guys have been asking for a duet for a while, and it’s finally here. ‘Easier Gone’ with @brittanyaldean + two more new songs are out now.”
Two days prior, he had teased the release with a video featuring Brittany, who said, “We might have something special for you. Cheers to the new year.”
Alongside “Easier Gone,” Aldean also released “What’s a Little Heartache” and “Her Favorite Color.” All three tracks are set to appear on his upcoming album, Songs About Us, scheduled for release on April 26.
In September, the couple shared a video on Instagram performing Luke Bryan’s “Drink a Beer” in honor of Charlie Kirk, captioning it, “For Charlie ♥️.”
Brittany has also reflected on their marriage and the challenges of adjusting to life in the public eye. She noted her resilience but acknowledged the difficulties that come with marrying someone in the limelight, stating, “Nothing really truly prepares you to get married to someone who is in the limelight, especially when it comes with a lot of people’s outside opinions.”
The couple shares two children: son Memphis, 8, and daughter Navy, 6. Brittany is also a stepmother to Jason’s two daughters, Keeley, 22, and Kendyl, 18, from his previous marriage.
