Jane Levy from ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ Cast in NBC’s New Pilot by Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici
Jane Levy Joins NBC’s New Comedy Project Alongside Jake Johnson and Keith David
Actress Jane Levy, known for her role in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, will star alongside Jake Johnson and Keith David in NBC’s untitled single-camera comedy created by Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici. Akiva Schaffer, recognized for his work on The Naked Gun, is set to direct and serve as an executive producer for the pilot.
This half-hour workplace comedy immerses viewers in the world of private detectives, continuing the legacy of Los Angeles private eyes that dates back to iconic characters like Philip Marlowe.
The series follows Mickey Wilder, played by Johnson, a former LAPD officer who transitions into a private investigator. David portrays Garner Taggert, the owner of the Garner Taggart PI Agency, where Mickey and his son, Mitch, work as the primary investigators. Taggert is characterized as a tough mentor with somewhat outdated views.
Levy takes on the role of Faye, a savvy investigative journalist who proves to be both smart and resourceful, making her a formidable presence in the narrative.
This project marks Levy’s return to NBC after her acclaimed role as Zoey Clarke in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, which premiered in 2020 and spanned two seasons. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category. The casting process for this project was handled by Bialy/Thomas & Associates.
Goor and Del Tredici are involved as writers and executive producers, while Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, is attached to the project. Levy is represented by UTA, Rise Management, and Sloane Offer Weber and Dern.
