Jake Paul Shares His Experience After Jaw Injury and Tooth Removal in Heavyweight Fight

Jake Paul is currently recovering from injuries sustained in his fight against Anthony Joshua.
On December 20, the 28-year-old YouTuber shared a health update on Instagram, confirming he is on the road to recovery but still experiencing pain following surgery for his broken jaw from the bout with Joshua, who is 36.
Alongside a photo of himself recovering in a hospital bed and an X-ray video, Paul wrote, “Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support.”
He detailed, “2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days, so no @doghausdogs :(.”
Paul’s fiancé, Jutta Leerdam, commented on his post, expressing, “My man ❤️.”

Paul faced Joshua during their scheduled eight-round fight at Miami’s Kaseya Center on December 19.
Throughout the match, Paul was knocked down four times by the former unified heavyweight champion, with the final blow landing in the sixth round, as reported by ESPN and Sky Sports.
Paul was quoted expressing, “I think my jaw is broken,” while dealing with blood following the match, according to the New York Post. “It’s definitely broke. But that was a nice little ass-whooping from one of the best to ever do it.”
After the surgery, Paul credited the medical team at Miami University Hospital for their excellent care, stating in a post on X, “amazing care of me.”

This defeat marks Paul’s second loss in his boxing career and his first by knockout.
Despite his injuries, Paul expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete, stating on Instagram, “Great experience. I love this sport. Time to rest, recover and return to cruiserweight,” and asked, “Who do you want to see me fight?”
