Jacquie Katz Steps Away from CAA and the Entertainment Industry
Jacquie Katz to Depart CAA After 15 Years to Pursue Advanced Studies
Jacquie Katz is leaving Creative Artists Agency (CAA) after a 15-year tenure, during which she served as an agent in the television literary department for over 11 years, most recently based in New York. Her departure, effective at the end of the month, marks a pivotal shift in her career as she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in social work at New York University.
Katz began her journey with CAA in 2010 as an assistant in Los Angeles and rose to the position of agent in 2014. Notably, she held the role of Co-Head of TV Lit from 2017 to 2019 before relocating to New York in 2021.
During her time at CAA, Katz represented a notable roster of television writers, directors, producers, and comedians, including Dan Erickson, Alissa Nutting, Pamela Adlon, Amber Ruffin, Desi Lydic, Emily Kapnek, and Jake Schreier. Her advocacy for women in the industry, particularly for female comedy writers and directors, has been a hallmark of her career. For instance, her client Amber Ruffin made history as the first Black woman to write for a network late-night talk show.
Katz’s transition into social work highlights her commitment to making a significant impact beyond the entertainment sector.
