Jack White’s Funny Slip-Up During Guitar Solo in Jack Black’s SNL Country Song Sketch: Check It Out!

Jack White, known for his impressive guitar skills, showcased a comedic side during a recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. The musician humorously forgot his solo in a pre-recorded sketch titled “Words to Live By (Country Song)” during the episode hosted by Jack Black on April 4.
In the nearly five-minute segment, a group of men reflect on the wise advice they’ve received, only to forget it at pivotal moments. The sketch opens with James Austin Johnson, portraying a character with a mullet, struggling to remember the words his father shared with him on his deathbed. It then transitions to Black, who dons a cowboy hat and strums an acoustic guitar as he attempts to recall wisdom imparted by a sage in a Tibetan cave.
As the sketch progresses, Black calls out, “Jack White, hit ’em with a guitar solo.” The scene shifts to White, dressed in black and wearing a cowboy hat, appearing on a breathtaking snow-capped mountain with an eagle flying overhead. He begins to play a country-infused guitar riff.
However, as he navigates the solo, White exclaims, “Wait, wait, I forgot it. I forgot the f—king solo.”
In addition to his sketch appearance, White performed two new songs, “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs,” as the episode’s musical guest. He also delighted fans with a surprise rendition of the White Stripes’ classic “Seven Nation Army” during the opening monologue, sharing the stage with Black and several members of the Five-Timers Club, including Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Candice Bergen, and Melissa McCarthy.
This episode marked Black’s fifth time hosting SNL and White’s sixth appearance as a musical guest, a journey that began with his debut alongside the White Stripes in 2002.
