Jack White Delights Fans with New Songs ‘Derecho Demonico’ and ‘G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs’ on SNL: Check It Out
Jack White Shines on Saturday Night Live
Musician Jack White made a notable return to Saturday Night Live, performing two brand new songs during the show. His appearance followed a cameo in a star-studded monologue alongside host Jack Black.
The 50-year-old Detroit rocker showcased his latest work with electrifying tracks titled “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs.” For his first performance, White took to a blue-lit stage adorned with wooden crates and a distinctive white statue featuring a glass skeleton head. Accompanied by a backing band, he delivered a powerful rendition of “Derecho Demonico.” Later in the evening, White returned wearing a jacket bearing a NASA logo, likely referencing the recently launched Artemis II mission, to perform the energetic “G.O.D. and The Broken Ribs.”
“Well, it’s the beginning of the world now / And there’s nobody left… Let’s start again… Let’s do it all over again,” he sings in the latter track.
White’s latest solo album, No Name, was released in 2024. During the opening segment, he surprised audiences with a performance of the White Stripes’ classic “Seven Nation Army,” joining Black and several members of the Five-Timers Club including Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Candice Bergen, and Melissa McCarthy.
This episode marked Black’s fifth time hosting the show, while White has now served as the musical guest on six occasions, having first appeared with the White Stripes in 2002. Black is currently promoting his role as the voice of Bowser in the animated sequel The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which premiered in theaters on April 1. His solo Billboard Hot 100 debut came in 2023 with “Peaches,” which peaked at No. 56.
White’s performances on SNL garnered significant attention, further solidifying his impact on the music scene.
