Ahead of his upcoming performance on April 4 for Saturday Night Live, Grammy-winning rock icon Jack White shines as this week’s headline artist with the release of his double single, “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs”/“Derecho Demonico.”
In a contrasting genre, Anne Hathaway marks another significant release with “My Mouth Is Lonely for You,” a track penned by FKA twigs for the upcoming Mother Mary soundtrack. Set to release on April 17, the A24 film showcases Hathaway as a fictional pop star making a stunning comeback. Accompanying the film, the Mother Mary: Greatest Hits soundtrack will also debut, featuring seven original songs created by Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX.
Emerging pop artist floweroflove heightened anticipation for her Coachella debut on April 10 with the release of her new single, “American Wedding.” Meanwhile, Sofia D’Angelo of MICHELLE continues her solo endeavors with the single “Time.”
This week’s New Music Friday also brings fresh tracks from a diverse array of artists, including Dan + Shay with “Say So,” Mary J. Blige’s “Want Love,” PJ Morton’s “Mutual,” YG and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Teach You How to Luh Me,” Meek Mill’s “600 Racks,” India Shawn with “Rain On Me,” Danielle Bradbery’s “Cowgirl’s Prayer,” Bebe Rexha’s “Hysteria,” Sheff G’s “Him,” Estelle’s “Live, Love, Learn,” and Ravyn Lenae with “Bobby” and “Reputation” featuring Dominic Fike.
In addition, English singer-songwriter Arlo Parks released her third album, Ambiguous Desire, which includes the standout track “Beams.” Swae Lee unveiled his new solo album, Same Difference, while the Irish rock band U2 shared a timely Easter Lily EP. Jazz-funk fusion artist Thundercat also debuted a new 15-track collection titled Distracted.
This week, listeners can also explore new projects from TheARTI$t (DND), Charley Crockett (Age of the Ram), Dermot Kennedy (The Weight of the Woods), and the collaborative effort from Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE & Surf Gang titled Pompeii // Utility.
