Isabelle Fuhrman and Michael Rooker Star in the New Possession Thriller ‘Izzi’; K5 Introduces It at EFM
Isabelle Fuhrman and Michael Rooker to Star in Possession Thriller "Izzi"
Isabelle Fuhrman, known for her role in the Orphan franchise, and Michael Rooker, celebrated for his performance in Guardians of the Galaxy, are set to headline the upcoming thriller Izzi. The film follows a chilling narrative of possession and family ties.
In Izzi, Fuhrman takes on a dual role as she portrays twin sisters, Jenny and Izzi. The storyline unfolds as Jenny returns home after years apart, only to find her sister Izzi possessed by a malevolent force and missing within a enigmatic forest. The plot thickens as a long-buried generational curse resurfaces, prompting Jenny to join forces with their father, John, and local sheriff Blackstone, played by Rooker, to rescue Izzi.
The film will be directed by twin brothers Jamie and Jason Neese, who previously contributed as co-executive producers on the popular Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.
K5 International, led by Daniel Baur, has secured worldwide sales rights for the film and is currently presenting it to buyers at the European Film Market this week. Production is slated to begin in the fall of 2026.
Producers for Izzi include Mark Gillard (Horizon: An American Saga), Glenn Kleczkowski (Agent X), and Jeff Miller (High School Musical), with Daniel Baur serving as executive producer on behalf of K5 International.
Commenting on their directorial debut, the Neese brothers expressed, “Izzi is a possession thriller grounded in character rather than spectacle. We were drawn to the emotional weight of estranged siblings and the idea of a curse that’s passed down, not just through folklore, but through family trauma. Our goal was to create something tense, atmospheric, and intimate—where the supernatural elements feel inseparable from the characters’ choices.”
