Home Invasion Disturbs Family Safety in Panorama City
Panorama City Family Shaken After Home Invasion
LOS ANGELES – A family in Panorama City is reeling after a harrowing home invasion left them threatened and frightened. The incident occurred at the residence of Karla Mendez, where her husband and two daughters, ages 7 and 15, were present.
According to reports, two intruders gained entry through a door mailbox opening. Once inside, they forced the family to lock themselves in a room and threatened to kill them if they made any noise, especially when the youngest daughter began to cry from fear.
The suspects fled the scene with stolen items, including cellphones and jewelry, among them gifts the 15-year-old received for her recent quinceañera. Fortunately, the family was unharmed but left deeply shaken by the ordeal.
In light of this incident, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has ramped up patrols and surveillance in the San Fernando Valley. This response follows the recent arrests of three burglary suspects in Burbank, believed to be connected to a pattern of break-ins in the area.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this home invasion to contact local law enforcement. Meanwhile, residents are exploring various security measures to enhance their safety, ranging from hiring private security to reinforcing entry points in their homes.
