Among the standout games in the City Section, Amit triumphed over Discovery with a score of 41-17. Angelou dominated West Adams, finishing 70-50, while Bell edged out Huntington Park in a close match, winning 37-35. Bernstein showed impressive skill, defeating Mendez 77-31, and Central City Value secured a solid 61-49 victory against Annenberg. The Champs team showcased its strength with a commanding 66-38 win over Bert Corona.
The Southern Section also produced thrilling encounters. Agoura narrowly defeated Calabasas 59-58, and Anaheim showcased might by overpowering Century 67-13. In a significant display of skill, Apple Valley claimed victory over Sultana with an 82-48 scoreline. Beckman and Bishop Montgomery also highlighted the evening with narrow wins, both teams edging out their opponents.
In intersectional play, CSDR bested the Indianapolis Indiana School for the Deaf, finishing 53-19, while Legacy Christian Academy recorded a resounding 86-28 victory over Highland Hall.
City Section Girls’ Highlights
The girls’ matches in the City Section saw Birmingham dominate Chatsworth by a score of 80-30. In a tightly contested game, Cleveland defeated El Camino Real 58-46, and Garfield held LA Roosevelt to just 15 points, with a final score of 58-15. King/Drew delivered a standout performance, winning 104-0 against Fremont.
Southern Section Girls’ Highlights
In the Southern Section, Agoura defeated Calabasas with a close score of 43-37. Aliso Niguel showcased their strength with a commanding 56-28 win against Mission Viejo. Apple Valley also delivered a powerful performance, defeating Sultana 61-21.
