Los Angeles, CA — In a busy day of high school basketball, various teams showcased their skills across the City and Southern Sections.
In the City Section boys’ games, Animo Robinson secured a victory against University Prep Value by forfeit. Cleveland triumphed over Taft with a score of 76-60, while Downtown Magnets defeated RFK Community 70-47. El Camino Real also performed well, beating Birmingham 66-52. Other notable wins included Garfield’s 52-34 victory against South East and a narrow finish for Granada Hills, who edged Chatsworth 39-37.
Granada Hills Kennedy delivered a commanding performance, winning 74-31 over Reseda. In similar fashion, Harbor Teacher outplayed Locke 53-29, and Hawkins achieved a staggering 100-9 victory against Rise Kohyang. Additional highlights featured LA Hamilton overcoming LACES 63-49 and LA Jordan’s 73-41 win against Crenshaw.
Moving to the Southern Section, Aliso Niguel narrowly defeated Beckman 61-60, with Anaheim routing Garden Grove Santiago 50-30. Arrowhead Christian posted a 70-60 win over Linfield Christian, while Bishop Diego emerged victorious against Del Sol with a score of 69-48. In a high-scoring affair, Compton took down Long Beach Jordan 85-72.
In girls’ action from the City Section, Angelou dominated Los Angeles 44-21. Bell delivered a strong performance against Legacy, winning 55-13, and Birmingham secured an 80-41 victory over El Camino Real. Cleveland exceeded expectations, defeating Taft 54-28. The day also saw Granada Hills Kennedy cement their dominance, overwhelming Reseda with a score of 76-9.
In the Southern Section, Alemany achieved a remarkable win over Flintridge Sacred Heart, scoring 124-3. Anaheim managed a solid 62-47 victory against Loara, while Brentwood took down Crossroads 67-39.
These results reflect a competitive spirit across various leagues, as teams vie for recognition and success in the ongoing season.
