Mike White Assembles Diverse Cast for Upcoming Season of The White Lotus
Mike White is once again curating an eclectic ensemble for the fourth season of The White Lotus, featuring a mix of established stars, emerging talents, and international actors. This season is set in France and promises a captivating narrative entwined with a murder mystery, encapsulating the show’s signature blend of social satire.
Among the latest cast additions are American actors Heather Graham (They Will Kill You, Chosen Family), Rosie Perez (The Flight Attendant, Your Honor), and Ben Schnetzer (The Madison, Y: The Last Man). They are joined by Scandinavian talents Tobias Santelmann (Detective Hole, The Last Kingdom) and Frida Gustavsson (Faithless, Vikings: Valhalla), along with French actress Laura Smet (Eager Bodies, The Bridesmaid).
Filming is scheduled to take place at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, a location rumored to be central to the new season’s production. As with previous installments, details about the characters remain under wraps, leaving fans uncertain about the specific roles of Graham, Perez, and Schnetzer, as well as the nature of Santelmann and Gustavsson’s characters. It remains unclear whether Smet’s role will involve the hotel staff or connect to the storyline in another fashion.
Production is set to begin next month, though it is not yet confirmed if there will be any connection to the Cannes Film Festival, happening nearby during filming.
Graham, Perez, Schnetzer, Santelmann, Gustavsson, and Smet join a previously announced cast list that includes Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, and others.
Written and directed by White, the new season will be executive produced by White alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
Santelmann and Schnetzer are currently involved in prominent new streaming series, with Santelmann playing the title role in Netflix’s Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, which premiered recently. Schnetzer stars in The Madison, a new series on Paramount+.
Graham is also making a return to the big screen in the action-comedy horror film They Will Kill You, which premiered last week at SXSW. Smet is recognized in French cinema as the daughter of noted actress Nathalie Baye and rock legend Johnny Hallyday.
Oscar-nominated Rosie Perez is back with HBO Max following her role on The Flight Attendant, which earned her four Emmy nominations. Former model Frida Gustavsson gained acclaim for her role in Vikings: Valhalla, while Heather Graham’s upcoming projects include a role in the reboot of Carrie on Prime Video.
Actor representation for the cast includes agencies across the board, with Graham, Santelmann, Schnetzer, Gustavsson, and Smet all backed by notable talent representatives.
