HBO’s Hard Knocks Features the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will both make their debuts in HBO’s behind-the-scenes NFL series, Hard Knocks.
This season will spotlight the Seahawks, who recently defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LX. The series will follow their summer training camp in 2026, while the Patriots will be featured in 2027.
Beginning August 11, the five-episode run focused on the Seahawks marks the first time a reigning Super Bowl champion has been featured since the show’s inception in 2001 with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Patriots’ legacy of championships, along with the stories surrounding head coach Bill Belichick, former quarterback Tom Brady, and owner Bob Kraft, has inspired numerous books, films, and series. In 2024, Apple TV released a ten-part series titled The Dynasty: New England Patriots. Of this trio, only Kraft remains with the organization. Beyond his role with the Patriots, Kraft is a significant player in the NFL’s media landscape and has close ties to President Trump, recently appearing with him at a Kennedy Center event.
While NFL Films produces the series, teams maintain some editorial control. However, the show has been known to generate headlines, such as when the 2024 season featured footage of New York Giants owner and general manager allowing star running back Saquon Barkley, drafted out of college, to enter free agency. Barkley later became league MVP and led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl title.
