HBO Launches Docuseries on the U.S. Men’s Soccer Team Just Before the World Cup
The U.S. men’s national soccer team has devoted the past four years to preparing for a historic World Cup on home soil, a journey that HBO has documented closely.
The cable network is set to premiere U.S. Against The World: Four Years With The Men’s National Soccer Team on May 12, just one month prior to the tournament opening on June 11.
This five-part series will spotlight key players, including Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams, Tim Weah, and Weston McKennie, as they embark on their quest for glory. The series will feature previously unseen footage from the USMNT’s 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar and provide insights into their journey both at home and abroad. It will also examine the transition of coaching leadership from Gregg Berhalter to current head coach Mauricio Pochettino in 2024.
Both Pochettino and Berhalter will appear in the series, alongside players such as Sergiño Dest, Tim Ream, Matt Turner, Chris Richards, Giovanni Reyna, Folarin Balogun, Antonee Robinson, Matt Freese, Brenden Aaronson, Malik Tillman, Yunus Musah, Mark McKenzie, Sebastian Berhalter, and journalist Paul Tenorio.
