HBO Confirms Season 3 for ‘It’s Florida, Man’
HBO Renews "It’s Florida, Man" for Third Season
HBO has confirmed the renewal of its quirky comedy series It’s Florida, Man for a third season, just weeks after the conclusion of its second season. The anthology series, known for its comedic take on bizarre real-life events in Florida, has been a staple in the network’s programming.
The show, which airs on Friday nights, has carved out a niche within HBO’s lineup of irreverent comedies, joining the ranks of other unique offerings such as How To With John Wilson, High Maintenance, Los Espookys, and the forthcoming A24-produced late-night series Neighbors. This series explores the often chaotic disputes between neighbors across the U.S.
It’s Florida, Man features a collection of short episodes, each inspired by true stories from locals in the Sunshine State. Notable tales from its second season included a man’s plot to steal a casino boat and another about a near-naked pizza encounter, showcasing the state’s peculiar charm.
The series comes from creators Mark Herwick and Jeff Tomsic, with Tomsic also serving as director. It is produced by Danny McBride’s Rough House Pictures in collaboration with Range Studios. Tomsic noted in a recent interview with NPR, “There is a lot of stuff that we couldn’t use this season, and that I’d love to shoot and work on. Every season, we’re learning a lot. It’s a surprisingly difficult show.”
Highlighting the show’s appeal, McBride expressed excitement about the renewal, stating, “Every time we think the stories can’t get any wilder, Florida proves us wrong. We’re grateful HBO keeps letting us shine a spotlight on the beautiful madness, and we can’t wait to dive back in and celebrate the weird, wonderful spirit of the state.”
Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President for HBO Programming, echoed this enthusiasm, adding, “Season three is just more proof that Florida remains undefeated – there’s no shortage of wild-but-true stories and an incredible cast of actors game enough to bring them to life.”
As It’s Florida, Man prepares for its upcoming season, fans can look forward to more of the offbeat yet compelling narratives that have defined the series.
