Harry Styles showcased his signature humor and style in a lighthearted sketch on Saturday Night Live. Serving as both host and musical guest on March 14, Styles presented a comedic advertisement for a fictional men’s fashion line called “Harry for Him,” developed in collaboration with Target.
In the sketch, Styles opens with a tongue-in-cheek statement: “For years I’ve been turning heads with my bold, confident style, and I’ve been approached by countless women who say, ‘My husband’s look is so boring. I wish he dressed more like you.’ Well now, he can. I’ve partnered with Target to recreate some of my extraordinary looks for the ordinary man — at a price he can afford. Harry for Him, by Harry Styles. I pulled these looks off, now you can too.”
The skit features SNL cast members Ben Marshall, James Austin Johnson, Andrew Dismukes, Mikey Day, Kam Patterson, Marcello Hernández, and Kenan Thompson modeling some of Styles’ most eye-catching outfits. While Styles confidently dons daring apparel, the sketch humorously questions whether everyday men can pull off similar looks.
Marshall expresses skepticism, stating, “I’m not convinced. When you see me in a side-by-side with Harry, the answer is definitely no,” as he struggles to wear Styles’ checkered rainbow jumpsuit from the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Johnson takes on Styles’ iconic 2019 Met Gala outfit, a sheer lace top paired with black pants and a dangling pearl earring. “When Harry wore this, my wife said he looked like the embodiment of elegant masculinity,” Johnson quips. “When I wore this, she said, ‘You look like a serial killer who’s wearing the clothes of a woman he killed.’”
Styles intervenes to reassure Johnson, calling him “hot” and noting that the Harry for Him line features more casual options. The sketch also includes a flamboyant sequin outfit worn by Styles during a 2022 Coachella performance. Dismukes remarks, “When he wore this during an awards show, he received glowing reviews. When I wore this to my 12-year-old son’s basketball game, the reviews were mixed. Some people told me I looked terrible, while others told me to go home and change.”
The sketch continues with several of Styles’ memorable outfits, including a Wizard of Oz-themed Dorothy costume worn during a Halloween concert at Madison Square Garden in 2021.
In another segment of the episode, Styles humorously reflected on his musical hiatus during his opening monologue, before performing two songs from his latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
