Halina Reijn Teams Up with A24 Again for ‘Please’ Featuring Grammy Nominee Gracie Abrams
Halina Reijn, acclaimed director of films like Bodies Bodies Bodies and Babygirl, is partnering with A24 once again to write and direct Please. This project will also mark the acting debut of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, who will lead the cast.
Details about the film’s plot remain confidential. David Hinojosa, a frequent collaborator of Reijn, will produce the film alongside her through her production company, Man Up. A24 is also involved in producing and financing the project, with Zach Nutman serving as executive producer.
Reijn’s previous two projects with A24, Babygirl and Bodies Bodies Bodies, garnered significant attention. The former is an erotic thriller featuring Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson, while the latter is a satirical ensemble slasher. Additionally, A24 acquired Reijn’s debut feature, Instinct.
Gracie Abrams first gained recognition with her EP Minor in 2020, followed by This Is What It Feels Like in 2021. She earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2023 with her debut album Good Riddance. After completing a headlining tour for this album, Abrams toured intermittently with Taylor Swift, appearing as an opening act on select dates of the Eras Tour.
