Guy Fieri Faces Setback, Leading to Changes in ‘Flavor Town Food Fight’ Production
Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is recovering from an accident that has impacted production of his Food Network series, Flavor Town Food Fight.
In a recent interview, Fieri detailed the incident, where he tripped on stairs, resulting in significant mobility restrictions during his recovery.
“I slipped down a set of steps, and one foot went forward while the other got caught on the threshold. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed, it led to a serious injury. The doctor said he has never seen a tear like mine in 20 years,” Fieri told Fox News Digital. “Yeah, it sucked.”
He emphasized that he was rushed to the hospital to prevent further muscle damage, as his quad muscle had “exploded.”
The accident occurred while filming was underway, prompting the production team to adapt their approach. “We had everybody in town, all the chefs there, and 125 people on set – and I’m in surgery,” he explained. “We figured out how to pivot through it and used some creative filming techniques. Now, I’m at the ranch, where outdoor activities and beautiful scenery are always my focus.”
Fieri noted that his recovery will take approximately eight weeks, during which he will rely on a wheelchair and crutches.
