Growing Buzz Around ‘The Night Agent’ in Season 3, While ‘Bridgerton’ Tops Netflix TV Rankings with Season 4 Finale
Audience Boost for The Night Agent Season 3 on Netflix
The Night Agent Season 3 has experienced a significant surge in viewership during its first full week on Netflix. From February 23 to March 1, the latest episodes accumulated 9.9 million views, positioning the series at No. 2 in the weekly English TV rankings.
This growth marks a rebound for the third season, which initially struggled with a loss of viewership from Season 2 during its opening weekend. If the series maintains this upward trend and secures additional weeks of solid ratings, it could enhance its prospects for renewal. Moreover, the first two seasons also made appearances on the rankings this week, suggesting sustained interest in the series.
In the same week, Season 1 garnered 2.9 million views, ranking No. 5, while Season 2 attracted 2.7 million views, landing at No. 8.
In the top spot for English TV was Bridgerton Season 4, which wrapped up last week with four final episodes focusing on the love story of Benedict (Luke Newton) and Sophie (Yerin Ha). This season racked up an impressive 28 million views during the same period, a total equivalent to the view count of the second half of Season 3 in its opening weekend. However, this figure is significantly lower than the initial four-day performance of the first half of Season 4.
Netflix’s approach to calculating viewership for split seasons complicates direct comparisons between parts. Views are determined by dividing total hours viewed by the runtime of the episodes available, so as more episodes are released, the extended runtime affects the view count. Consequently, even if the viewing hours remain consistent across parts, the published view numbers may differ.
Bridgerton Season 4 is anticipated to appear on the Netflix Most Popular list soon, though it still needs to surpass Season 1 of The Night Agent, which currently holds 98 million views for the tenth spot.
The viewing period for Netflix’s Most Popular list encompasses a 91-day window for each split season. For Bridgerton, the Part 1 viewing count applies from January 29 to April 29, while Part 2 will be tracked from February 23 to May 24.
Unscripted TV shows claimed the next two positions in last week’s rankings, with Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model coming in at No. 3 with 3.8 million views, and Love Is Blind: Ohio at No. 4 with 3.1 million views.
In contrast, the English film landscape saw a quieter week, as Jurassic World Rebirth secured the top position with just 5.6 million views. Continuing its successful streak, Kpop Demon Hunters came in second with 5 million views, following a performance at the BRIT Awards featuring Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami, and EJAE. On the non-English film front, the Spanish thriller Firebreak led the way with 13.2 million views.
