### Key Points
– Grimes has claimed that her ex-partner Elon Musk “blocked” her on X, formerly known as Twitter.
– In a recent post, she described the situation as “silly.”
– The couple, who share three children, have had a tumultuous relationship.
Grimes, the singer and ex-partner of tech billionaire Elon Musk, recently revealed that Musk has blocked her on the social media platform X. This claim arose after an X user noticed that Grimes no longer follows Musk.
“For context, I’m just living my life,” Grimes responded on December 11. “He followed me then blocked me. I’m not gna be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co-parenting; I am not interested in public dramatics.” She added with humor, “This is so silly lol.”
Grimes, 37, and Musk, 54, began their relationship in 2018 and welcomed their first child, son X Æ A-Xii (commonly referred to as “X”) in May 2020. They went on to have two more children: daughter Exa Dark Sideræl via surrogate in December 2021, and son Techno Mechanicus in June 2022.
In October 2023, Grimes filed a petition seeking to establish parental rights over their three children, according to public records. Furthermore, she has indicated that her music career has taken a backseat due to ongoing custody disputes with Musk.

In statements made in late 2024, Grimes expressed concerns about the impact of their custody battles on her creativity and professional life. “Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers’ rights having my Instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn’t have my kids,” she shared. “And this is only what can be said publicly, since most of my experience these last years should remain behind closed doors.”
Grimes expressed her dismay at the public nature of their children’s lives, particularly after Elon brought their son X to the Oval Office, an event that she learned about through social media. “He should not be in public like this,” she commented on X. “I did not see this; thank you for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
In a subsequent interview, she articulated her desire for more privacy for their children, insisting that “fame is something you should consent to.” On March 13, Grimes reiterated her concerns, stating, “I have tried begging the public and my kid’s dad to keep them offline… The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me.”
Grimes concluded with a sense of hopelessness regarding legal protections for children in the public eye, highlighting a critical issue in celebrity culture and parenting in the digital age.
