Glen Powell’s New Country Western Film from Judd Apatow Has a Title
Universal Pictures has officially announced the title of its upcoming comedy, directed by Judd Apatow and starring Glen Powell. The film, entitled The Comeback King, is set to grace theaters on February 5, 2027.
The Comeback King follows Powell, who portrays a Country Western star on the decline. Alongside Powell, the cast includes Cristin Milioti, Madelyn Cline, Stavros Halkias, and Li Jin Hao.
The screenplay was co-written by Powell and Apatow. Apatow will produce the film through his production company, Apatow Productions, while Powell and Dan Cohen will produce under their Barnstorm banner as part of their first-look deal with Universal. Kevin Misher, the former president of Universal’s production division, will also produce through his Misher Films label. Executive producers for the project include Barry Mendel and Josh Church.
As the film gears up for its release, it promises to deliver a blend of humor and heart, characteristic of Apatow’s storytelling style.
