Final Chapter for The Upshaws as Netflix Prepares for Part 7 Release
The Upshaws, a family comedy on Netflix, is approaching its conclusion with the release of the official trailer for Part 7, the series’ final season. Starring Mike Epps, Kim Fields, and Wanda Sykes, the show chronicles the life of Bennie Upshaw, a well-meaning mechanic striving to provide for his family in Indianapolis.
Created by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes, who also serve as showrunners, The Upshaws depicts Bennie’s efforts to support his wife Regina and their three children while managing his complicated relationships, including a sardonic sister-in-law. Despite the absence of a functional blueprint for family life, the Upshaws remain determined to navigate challenges together.
In the concluding episodes, the Upshaws will face a mix of life’s unpredictability—from new job opportunities and health struggles to major surprises—all underscored by their familial love.
The series, which boasts 60 episodes, marks the third longest run for a Netflix original multi-camera comedy, trailing only The Ranch (80 episodes) and Fuller House (75 episodes). The final installment will feature a total of 12 episodes.
Executive producers for the season include Hicks, Sykes, Epps, along with Page Hurwitz, Niles Kirchner, Annie Levine, Jon Emerson, and Mark Alton Brown.
The Upshaws Part 7 is set to premiere on January 15 on Netflix.
