Steve Nash, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, has been married to Lilla Nash since 2016. The couple welcomed their son Luca in July 2017 and daughter Ruby in June 2019. In addition to his children with Lilla, Nash is a father to twin daughters and a son, whom he shares with his ex-wife.
Nash first met Lilla, a former volleyball player, in August 2015. They became engaged in March 2016 and married just six months later, sharing their vows on September 3, 2016. The couple has often expressed their affection for each other in public and on social media.
In a heartfelt Instagram post to commemorate their five-year anniversary in September 2021, Lilla wrote, “5 years married to my best friend, and a lifetime to go. I love you @stevenash. Happy anniversary!”
Lilla Nash was born on July 3, 1990, in Huntington Beach, California. She is one of five siblings and attended Cornelia Connelly High School in Anaheim before pursuing a degree in liberal arts at Pepperdine University. Lilla was also an accomplished volleyball player, representing the U.S. women’s junior national team and securing a gold medal at the 2008 NORCECA Continental Championships.
In March 2016, the couple got engaged while vacationing in Mallorca, where Nash is a minority owner of the soccer team RCD Mallorca. He shared the news on social media, expressing his excitement with the caption, “She said yes!”
Following their engagement, Lilla and Steve obtained their marriage license in August 2016 before tying the knot in a beach ceremony in Manhattan Beach, California. Nash’s daughters from his previous marriage participated as “mini bridesmaids,” adding a family-oriented touch to their special day.
Since their marriage, Steve and Lilla have built a family together, welcoming their two children while blending their respective families. Lilla takes pride in her role as a stepmother, often sharing insights on social media about her experiences. In a May 2018 post, she expressed her pride in having successfully merged their families, stating, “My tribe!”
Publicly, the couple continues to support each other in their professional endeavors. Lilla acknowledged their move to Brooklyn in December 2020 when Steve was named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. She noted the challenges and joys of the transition on social media, describing it as “super fun” to be part of the community.
As of now, Lilla also emphasizes the importance of authentic parenting, debunking the myth of the “perfect mom.” Both she and Steve have shared mutual respect and admiration for each other across various platforms, solidifying their bond both as partners and co-parents.
