- Clooney hinted that the returning characters will be “too old to do what we used to do,” but “still smart enough to know how to get away with something.”
- Original cast members Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle are expected to return.
George Clooney is reuniting the original cast of Ocean’s Eleven for a fourth installment of the beloved franchise. The new film, Ocean’s 14, is moving forward with plans to bring back stars Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle, among others.
According to a recent interview in Variety, Clooney revealed that while the crew will be older, they will also be wiser. “There was something about the idea that we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me,” he said.
The film’s roster includes Clooney playing mastermind Danny Ocean alongside Pitt’s loyal accomplice Rusty, Damon’s pickpocket Linus, Cheadle’s demolitions expert Basher, and Roberts as Danny’s love interest, Tess. Clooney mentioned that the gang has “lost a step” and will need to navigate their new limitations creatively.

Clooney recently confirmed that Warner Bros. has approved the budget for Ocean’s 14. “We’re trying to set up,” he stated. “It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us.” The production team aims to begin filming in October.
The anticipated film will also draw inspiration from Martin Brest’s 1979 movie Going in Style, which featured a group of senior citizen criminals. The original Ocean’s Eleven itself was a remake of the 1960 film starring Frank Sinatra and others.
After the original trilogy, the franchise expanded with the 2018 spin-off Ocean’s 8, which featured an all-star female cast led by Sandra Bullock. In addition, a prequel focusing on Danny’s parents, with Margot Robbie attached, is also in the works.
