Gary Lennon to Create New Crime Drama Series ‘Los Feliz’ for Starz Following ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Success
Peabody Award-Winning Producer Gary Lennon Developing New Crime Drama ‘Los Feliz’ for Starz
Prominent producer, showrunner, and writer Gary Lennon, known for his work on critically acclaimed series such as Power Book IV: Force and Hightown, is spearheading a new crime drama titled Los Feliz at Starz.
Set in the Los Angeles neighborhood of the same name, Los Feliz will explore the emotional turmoil stemming from an affair that disrupts friendships, marriages, and careers. As tensions escalate, the situation leads to a murder case that fragments the community, highlighting the destructive power of both lies and truths.
Currently, all eight episodes are being penned by Lennon, who is simultaneously developing another project: the new Power Universe spinoff series Power: Legacy. This series has been in development since last June and remains in progress as Los Feliz takes shape.
Should Legacy receive a series order, it is expected to advance the narrative established in the series finale of Power Book IV: Force. It would also complement Power: Origins, a prequel led by Sascha Penn. Lennon has held various key roles in the Power franchise, serving as showrunner, writer, director, and executive producer of Force and as co-showrunner for the final season of the original Power series.
In 2024, Lennon extended his contract with Lionsgate Television, the studio behind the Power franchise created by Courtney A. Kemp, allowing him to continue exploring development opportunities to expand the Power Universe.
Beyond his work on Power, Lennon also executive produces successful series such as HBO’s Euphoria, Starz’s Hightown, and Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. His expertise has earned him Peabody Awards for his contributions to Justified and Orange Is the New Black, along with two NAACP Image Awards for the original Power series. Lennon is represented by CAA and attorney Erik Hyman at Paul Hastings.
