Los Angeles, CA – In a thrilling showcase of high school athletics, several teams across the City Section and Southern Section delivered standout performances in both baseball and softball games.
In the City Section baseball matchups, Diego Rivera triumphed over Animo Venice with a decisive 14-2 victory. Other highlights included East Valley, defeating Reseda 13-3, and El Camino Real edging San Fernando 1-0. Fremont showcased a commanding win against Fairfax, finishing 10-1, while Granada Hills Kennedy narrowly defeated South East 13-10. Hollywood also made a mark, besting Roybal 12-4. The RFK Community team dominated Contreras, scoring 25-7.
In the Southern Section’s baseball competitions, standout performances were prominently on display. Alhambra overwhelmed San Gabriel with an 18-0 scoreline, while Arcadia produced a staggering 24-1 victory over Glendale. The matches continued with noticeable outcomes, including Bishop Amat triumphing over Gardena Serra 13-2 and Laguna Hills defeating Portola 10-5.
The high school softball games also captured attention in the City Section. Huntington Park narrowly overcame Maywood CES in a thrilling 19-17 showdown. Reseda dominated Fulton with a score of 22-9, while SOCES triumphed over Fairfax 27-2.
In the Southern Section softball scores, Bishop Montgomery claimed a 10-0 win against Chadwick, and Agoura secured a 2-0 victory over Saugus. A notable performance came from Lone Pine, which routed Silver Valley 26-15.
With teams showcasing exceptional skills and teamwork, the ongoing season remains promising for high school athletes and their supporters across the region.
