Frankie Shaw Teams Up with Jeff Ward in the Exciting New Crime Thriller ‘Strangers’
Frankie Shaw to Star in Romantic Thriller "Strangers" Alongside Jeff Ward
Frankie Shaw, known for her work on SMILF, has been cast to star opposite Jeff Ward in the upcoming romantic crime thriller Strangers, which Ward is also directing. The script for the film has been penned by Dan Schimpf.
Currently in production, Strangers tells the story of two lonely individuals who meet by chance in a bar and quickly develop a romantic relationship while conspiring to rob the very bank from which one of them is being laid off. While further details about the film remain undisclosed, it has been characterized as a blend of Before Sunrise and Good Time.
In addition to Shaw and Ward, the cast will include Eric Lange, recognized for his role in Escape at Dannemora, and Katie Finneran, who has appeared in The Gilded Age.
The project boasts an impressive production team, including producers Billy Hines, Bailey Jones, Jeff Ward, Dan Schimpf, Allison Friedman, and Jayne Sherman. Executive producers Ruth Shaber, Glenn Barnes, and J. Andrew Greenblatt will oversee the project, while Lynette Aslanian serves as associate producer, with Co Created Media as the production company.
Shaw, a Golden Globe nominee for her work on SMILF, made her feature directorial debut with 4 Kids Walk into a Bank, which will star Liam Neeson and is set to be released by Amazon MGM’s Orion Pictures. She is represented by WME, Entertainment 360, and Ziffren Brittenham.
Eric Lange, known for roles in Marvel’s Thunderbolts, Narcos, and Lost, recently completed filming for Greyhound 2, co-starring Tom Hanks. He is represented by Innovative and Trademark Talent.
Katie Finneran is a two-time Tony Award winner recognized for her performances in Bloodline on Netflix and The Gilded Age on HBO. Her representation includes Innovative and Principal Entertainment LA.
Jeff Ward, who recently directed the successful Off-Broadway run of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, has gained recognition for his acting roles in Hacks, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brand New Cherry Flavor, PEN15, and One Piece. He is represented by Range Media Partners and Schreck Rose Dapello.
Dan Schimpf, best known for creating and directing Big Time in Hollywood, FL on Comedy Central, has also directed episodes of Miracle Workers on TBS and Man Seeking Woman on FXX. Schimpf is represented by Mosaic, CAA, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.
