Fox Entertainment Studios Partners with River Gallo, Star and Writer of ‘Ponyboi’
River Gallo Signs First-Look Deal with Fox Entertainment Studios
River Gallo, the star and writer of Ponyboi, has secured a first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios for scripted television and film projects. Ponyboi premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and garnered a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize, marking it as the first feature film from Fox’s new independent label, Tideline. The film also stars Dylan O’Brien alongside Gallo.
As part of the agreement, Gallo will develop and produce a variety of content across television, streaming platforms, and motion pictures.

We’re excited to continue building together and to support River as they create new work for television and film.”

The film has already received multiple accolades, including Best Narrative Feature at NewFest: New York’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival and Best Performance for Gallo at the Torino Film Festival. It has also received recognition from various organizations, such as ReFrame and the New Jersey Film Critics Circle, adding to its cultural impact. Notably, Ponyboi earned a nomination for Outstanding Film – Limited Theatrical Release at the 2026 GLAAD Media Awards.
