The much-anticipated docuseries Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The End of an Era has provided insight into the excitement and challenges surrounding the Eras Tour, particularly during a notable performance featuring Florence Welch.
Welch, the lead singer of Florence and the Machine, joined Swift for a duet of “Florida!!!” as the singer wrapped up five consecutive shows in London in August. The performance is a highlight of the docuseries, which sheds light on various behind-the-scenes moments of the tour.
In the series, the 39-year-old singer recalls arriving at Wembley Stadium and being overwhelmed by the choreography she was expected to learn. “I thought I just show up and run around, because that’s what I do at my own shows,” she explained. “When I got there, they were like, ‘This is your choreo.’ I was like, ‘No, no, no, wait, you must be confused. I don’t do this! I’m gonna f— this up!’”

Despite her initial apprehension, Welch successfully executed the performance. In a reflective moment, she shared her feelings just before stepping onto the stage with Swift. “The feeling of coming up for the first time in that lift, it was kind of like landing on Mars, ‘cause I’d never seen the stage lit up before,” she said. “It was wild, but it was really fun and completely terrifying.”
Welch also noted her surprise at seeing Swift in a more public context. “Taylor is my friend, and I know her as this very cozy person, and I came out of that lift and I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s f—ing Taylor Swift!’”
This docuseries offers fans a glimpse into the unseen aspects of the Eras Tour, including personal phone calls between Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, rehearsals with Ed Sheeran, and Swift’s thoughtful gestures for her crew.
Additionally, it features the experiences of dancers and choreographers, while also addressing Swift’s response to the emotional challenges faced during the tour, including a thwarted terror threat in Vienna and the tragic death of three young girls in a related incident.
Reflecting on her monumental achievement with the Eras Tour, Swift emphasized her dedication to her fans: “I want to overserve the fans. That was my main goal.”
