First Look at the Trailer for ‘Dune: Part Three’ – Exciting Finale Ahead!
Fans of the Dune franchise are getting their first glimpse of Dune: Part Three, with Warner Bros and Legendary unveiling the initial trailer on Tuesday. Slated for release on December 18, 2026, the film features returning stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Javier Bardem, along with new cast members Robert Pattinson and Anya Taylor-Joy.
On Monday, character posters were released, showcasing the main cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, and newcomer Isaach de Bankolé.
The trailer, which takes place 17 years after the events of Dune: Part Two, opens with Chani, played by Zendaya, asking Paul (Chalamet) about the name for their potential child. She suggests naming a boy after Duke Leto Atreides, Paul’s father, to inherit his wisdom.
Amid intense battle scenes, the trailer introduces Pattinson’s character Scytale, displaying his platinum blonde buzz cut. Paul, now also sporting a buzz cut, is seen atop a plinth above a cheering crowd, facing an opponent in the desert. In a voice-over, he declares, “I’m not afraid to die, but I must not die yet.” The trailer concludes with Chani preparing to face an unseen enemy.
The Dune franchise, based on Frank Herbert’s Hugo Award-winning novel series, includes two previous films—Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2022). Together, these films generated over $1.12 billion at the global box office and received a total of eight Oscars from 15 nominations, including Best Picture nods for both.
All three films have been directed by Denis Villeneuve, who collaborated with screenwriter Jon Spaihts, and Eric Roth co-wrote on the first installment.
Additionally, the franchise’s latest expansion is the prequel TV series Dune: Prophecy, created by Lost writer-producer Alison Schapker, set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ ascension. This series premiered on HBO and Max in November.
The anticipation builds as Dune: Part Three approaches, promising to continue the saga with its complex narrative and rich character development.
