First Look at the Final Season of ‘The Chi’ – Check Out the Photos
Paramount+ has released new images from the upcoming eighth and final season of The Chi. Created by Emmy winner Lena Waithe, the production began in January. The series, set against the backdrop of Chicago, is poised to premiere later this year.
The Chi explores the lives of residents on the South Side of Chicago, whose connections are formed through coincidence and a shared quest for redemption and connection.
The official logline for Season 8 states: “As The Chi enters its eighth and final season and its coldest winter ever, life-or-death choices must be made. The question becomes, who is willing to make them? Legacy, conflict, joy, and pain all collide in the most emotionally riveting way ever seen this season on The Chi.”
Starring in the series are Jacob Latimore, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Hannaha Hall, and Jason Weaver.

The Chi is created and executive produced by Lena Waithe under her Hillman Grad banner. Co-showrunners Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel are also executive producers, along with notable figures like Oscar and Emmy winner Common, Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Resheida Brady-Anderson, Derek Dudley, and Shelby Stone from ID8 Multimedia. Additional executive producer James Rogers III joins the team, while Deondray Gossfield and Quincy LeNear Gossfield return to direct multiple episodes, now elevated to Co-Executive Producers. The series is produced by 20th Television.
