First Look at Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas in the Upcoming Comedy ‘Power Ballad’
Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas star in the upcoming comedy Power Ballad, directed by John Carney. The film promises a heartwarming exploration of music and ambition.
The story centers on Rick (Rudd), a wedding singer whose glory days are behind him, and Danny (Jonas), a boy-band star navigating a career decline. Their unexpected friendship blossoms during a late-night jam session, leading to Danny turning one of Rick’s songs into a chart-topping hit. As Rick seeks to reclaim his past success, he must confront the risks that come with ambition and self-respect.
Carney co-wrote the screenplay with Peter McDonald, and the film is produced by Anthony Bregman, John Carney, Peter Cron, Rebecca O’Flanagan, and Robert Walpole.

Fully financed and executive produced by 30West, Power Ballad made its debut at the Dublin Film Festival and is scheduled to be featured at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival.
