First Look at ‘Descendants: Wicked Wonderland’: Red and Chloe Take on the Menacing Maddox Hatter in Disney’s Upcoming Film
Disney Channel has unveiled a first-look teaser for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, the latest addition to the popular Descendants franchise.
The preview was released ahead of the Descendants / Zombies Worlds Collide: Concert Special, which is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland continues the journey of Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) as they explore the true meaning of “happily ever after” following their time-traveling escapades in the 2024 film Descendants: The Rise of Red. The narrative is set primarily in present-day Wonderland and features a mix of new and familiar characters, addressing the consequences of altering time as warned in the previous installment.
In the teaser, Red and Chloe conceal their most perilous secret—a time-traveling pocket watch—within the Royal Vault, unaware that a formidable new threat is on the horizon. Maddox Hatter, portrayed by Leonardo Nam, emerges as a ruthless villain intent on seizing the pocket watch to manipulate time and control the fate of Wonderland.
Returning cast members include Kylie Cantrall as Red, Malia Baker as Chloe, Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter, Melanie Paxson as Fairy Godmother, Brandy as Cinderella, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, and Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts. New faces joining the ensemble are Liamani Segura as Pink, Alexandro Byrd as Luis Madrigal, Brendon Tremblay as Max Hatter, Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook, Joel Oulette as Robbie Hood, Zavien Garrett as Felix Facilier, Ryan McEwen as Squirmy Smee, and Dayton Paradis as Squeaky Smee.
Kimmy Gatewood directs the film, with a script penned by co-executive producer Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer. Executive producers Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh, along with Gatewood, will oversee the project. Choreographer Emilio Dosal is set to craft vibrant music-and-dance sequences that have become a hallmark of the Descendants series.
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland is slated to premiere this summer on both Disney Channel and Disney+.
