Finn Wolfhard to Shift His Focus to Music in 2026 After ‘Stranger Things’ Wraps Up
After nearly a decade in Hawkins, Finn Wolfhard is set to shift his focus from acting to music as he prepares to tour with his band, The Aubreys. The actor, known for his role in Stranger Things, confirmed that he currently has "nothing on the books officially for acting" after the series wrapped following its New Year’s Eve finale.
In an interview with Esquire, Wolfhard expressed his desire to continue acting but clarified that he will only pursue projects that truly excite him. "I definitely want to pursue and keep on acting but only if it’s something that I’m really in love with,” he stated.
Looking ahead to 2026, Wolfhard plans to tour with The Aubreys and release new music. “I’m probably going to tour a little bit with my band next year and put out another album," he shared. "I have some music that I’ve written over the last two years that I want to record, so I’m kind of keeping it open.”
The Aubreys made their debut with the single "Getting Better (otherwise)" featured in Wolfhard’s 2020 film The Turning. The band followed up with their first EP, Soda & Pie, in March 2020, and the album Karaoke Alone the following year.
In June 2025, Wolfhard released his debut solo album, Happy Birthday, through AWAL. He also revealed to Esquire that he has completed filming for his upcoming stunt comedy, Crash Land, which is directed by Dempsey Bryk and stars Gabriel LaBelle.
