Finite Films & TV Welcomes Paddy Hughes for Exciting New Branded Content Initiative
Finite Films & TV Appoints Paddy Hughes as Creative Director
British production company Finite Films & TV has announced the appointment of Paddy Hughes as its new Creative Director, tasked with leading a range of original branded content initiatives.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Hughes is a BAFTA-nominated director and producer who has extensively worked across television, subscription streaming, digital media, and commercial content. He will collaborate closely with Finite’s founder and executive producer, Amy Gardner, to cultivate original content partnerships with brands, including projects aimed at digital-first platforms.
Hughes has an impressive portfolio, having produced and directed factual entertainment, documentaries, and scripted programs for renowned distributors such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Disney, and Sky. His experience includes roles at Little Dot Studios, Future Studios, and Cowshed Collective. Notably, he secured series commissions for both UK and U.S. networks, including BBC3’s Eating with My Ex, for which he received a BAFTA nomination in 2018, and the 2015 short-form scripted sitcom Jack & Dean of All Trades on Fullscreen.
This year, Hughes has concentrated on branded entertainment for Channel 4 while also collaborating with Left Bank Pictures to create a digital drama slate and strategy. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Romalo Film & Creative, a start-up focused on branded productions, YouTube content, and films.
Hughes’ appointment follows Finite’s recent expansion into unscripted television, including the celebrity competition series Wings & Waves, produced in partnership with global sportswear brand North Sails. In his new role, Hughes aims to forge similar partnerships.
“Paddy brings an extraordinary level of experience and creative vision,” stated Gardner. “His passion for premium storytelling and knowledge of brand-driven content aligns perfectly with our ambitions, and his appointment signals an exciting next phase for growing our branded slate.”
Reflecting on his career trajectory, Hughes remarked, “My career has taken me from traditional television into the fast and ever-evolving world of digital and branded content. Finite has some really interesting clients, and I’m excited to shape genre-busting work that pushes creative boundaries.”
Finite’s scripted projects include the psychological horror film The Fears, directed by Doctor Who’s Andrew Gunn, and Ben & Lucy, featuring Steven Cree and directed by Cora Bissett. The company is also set to co-produce Two of Us, the first English-language feature film from director Anu Menon, in partnership with Bright Pictures. Additionally, writer Sophia Al-Maria has joined the team for its upcoming series The Many Lives of Miss K.
