Miss Universe Fátima Bosch recently opened up about a viral walkout during a pre-pageant event, revealing her concerns about potential disqualification for her actions. Speaking on CNN’s *The Lead with Jake Tapper* on December 4, Bosch reflected on the overwhelming support she received from fellow contestants during the incident, where several walked out with her. This happened after she was confronted by pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil.

The confrontation occurred on November 4 when Itsaragrisil reprimanded Bosch, allegedly for not participating in a photo shoot intended for social media. Bosch, who denied the accusations, faced continued criticism from Itsaragrisil, prompting her and several contestants to exit the room in protest, an event captured on livestream.
In her interview, Bosch admitted her thoughts during the walkout were centered around the potential repercussions for Mexico’s participation in the pageant. “I thought, ‘Okay, Mexico now is not going to classify this year,’” she recounted, but emphasized, “I did what I did because of my values and what I believe.”
Following her coronation on November 21, allegations have surfaced questioning the legitimacy of her win, with some claiming it was rigged. Bosch, however, firmly rejects such assertions, stating that her victory was based solely on her efforts. “No,” she stated. “I make the same effort that all the pageant participants make. And this is a joke. But I feel like I made history, so why not?”
Despite the triumph, Bosch has navigated a complex landscape of public scrutiny, expressing her surprise over the duality of support and criticism she has received. “It’s really weird,” she noted, addressing the contrasting reactions following her win and the viral moment. “I had so much support after the walkout, and then I won and had all the hate.”
Compounding the drama, MGI president Nawat Itsaragrisil has claimed he filed a criminal complaint against Bosch, denying having insulted her as previously alleged. A statement from a representative of MGI asserted that video evidence contradicts Bosch’s claims regarding the confrontation, further complicating the narrative surrounding the incident.

In addition, former judge Omar Harfouch has raised concerns about the Miss Universe pageant’s integrity, alleging a pre-selection of finalists. The organization has publicly denied these allegations, asserting that the selection process was fair and transparent.
As the situation unfolds, Bosch has been actively addressing the criticisms and controversies surrounding her victory, maintaining that her actions were driven by personal integrity and belief in her values. “I can’t stay quiet,” she affirmed. “In every case, your dignity is more important than any price or any dream that you have.”
