Exploring the Unique Vision of Boots Riley: A Look at ‘I Love Boosters’ and Its Take on Capitalism and Culture at SXSW
New Film "I Love Boosters" to Premiere in 2026
Director and writer Boots Riley is set to unveil his latest project, "I Love Boosters," on March 12, 2026. The film revolves around a group of skilled shoplifters who aim to challenge a ruthless fashion mogul, offering a perspective that Riley describes as akin to community service.
The star-studded cast includes Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Eiza Gonzalez, Poppy Liu, and Lakeith Stanfield.
Keke Palmer shared her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Boots attracted me to the screenplay, just hearing his name. I’ve been a fan of his for a really long time. Obviously Sorry to Bother You… it was next level. So whimsical, but also so much commentary. You can watch it and keep pulling back the layers. So, when I read the script [for I Love Boosters], I felt the same way. He’s the kind of person I want to work with, and I can’t wait to see what he brings out of me.”
Riley’s unique storytelling style, which blends humor with social commentary, is expected to resonate with audiences and add an intriguing layer to the narrative.
