Ethan Slater recently provided a rare glimpse into his relationship with Ariana Grande by sharing photos on his Instagram Story. Slater, 33, posted images of Grande, 32, cuddling with a dog and celebrating on December 26. In the snapshots, she dons an all-black ensemble, complete with a turtleneck, wide-leg pants, platform heels, and accessorizes her sleek updo with a white headband and pearl earrings.
Over one photo featuring Grande seated on a couch beside a companion, Slater wrote, “Very merry holidays,” capturing a candid moment of the pair enjoying laughter.
After meeting while filming *Wicked* in 2022, their relationship was later confirmed in July 2023. Known for being private about their romance, Slater had previously shared an intimate image of Grande celebrating her Oscar nomination for *Wicked* in January 2025.
More recently, Slater was present to support Grande when she hosted an episode of *Saturday Night Live* on December 21. Photos shared by Grande’s friend and former *Victorious* co-star Liz Gillies on Instagram showcased Slater among others on set.
One of the images featured Gillies, Slater, and actor Aaron Simon Gross posing together, while others highlighted Grande’s costume changes throughout the night. Gillies expressed her admiration for Grande’s performance, stating, “Nobody does it like you, dingus.” She added, “What a treat it is to watch you use your many talents and gifts and use them so effortlessly well.”
In a November interview, Slater praised Grande’s performance during the New York City premiere of the second *Wicked* film, describing it as “out of this world” and also commended co-star Cynthia Erivo.

In his comments about *Wicked*, Slater expressed immense pride, stating that the film represents a true continuation of the first installment. He highlighted the deep friendship between Grande and Erivo, who plays Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West.

They truly support each other off camera, according to Slater, who remarked, “They really do just communicate off camera even more than they do on camera… the ways that they help each other through the craziness of this are beautiful to witness.”
