Erin Barrier Steps Up as Senior Vice President of Communications at Walt Disney Studios
Erin Barrier has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Communications for Walt Disney Studios. Previously, she held the position of Vice President of Communications at the studio.
Barrier will assume the role previously occupied by Paul Roeder, who was recently promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at the Walt Disney Company, reporting directly to CEO Josh D’Amaro. With 13 years of experience at the Walt Disney Company, Barrier will now oversee the global communications strategy for Walt Disney Studios and its associated production entities, which include Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Disney Theatrical Group, and Disney Music Group.
During her tenure as Vice President of Communications for the consumer products division, Barrier led franchise, licensing, and retail communications, orchestrating global campaigns such as Frozen Fan Fest, Star Wars: Force Friday, Pixar Fest, and Black Panther: Welcome to Wakanda. Before this, she held various leadership roles within Disney Consumer Products.
Barrier began her professional journey at Golin, where she advanced to Senior Account Supervisor before joining Disney in 2012.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, along with a minor in Political Science, from San Diego State University.
