Emma Elle Paterson from ‘The Boys’ Takes on Dual Role in New Thriller ‘Candy’
Emma Elle Paterson Takes Lead Role in Amazon’s Upcoming Thriller ‘Candy’
Emma Elle Paterson, recently cast in Amazon’s series The Boys, will lead and produce the feature film Candy, directed by Jessica Michael Davis.
Described as an "elevated genre-bending thriller," Candy marks a significant project for both Paterson and Davis, who will also star in the film alongside Darius Jordan Lee, known for his role in Dexter: Resurrection.
The screenplay, co-written by Davis and based on a short story by Mindy McGinnis, follows a young woman who undergoes a radical bodily transformation to reclaim her autonomy. As she embodies the persona of "Candy," her journey becomes a complex blend of empowerment and moral ambiguity, leading her down a seductive path of vengeance.
Jeffrey Weber, known for Snare, serves as executive producer on the project, with production slated to commence this summer.
Davis, who made her feature debut with Escaping Ohio in 2023— a film that also featured Paterson—has described Candy as a “dark, wildly fun and unapologetic—a femme fatale story driven by female agency rather than male fantasy.”
Paterson is represented by Canopy Media Partners and Play Management, while Davis is represented by Vision Entertainment. Lee’s representation includes Stride Management and Nicolosi & Co., and McGinnis is represented by Folio Literary Management.
