Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy to Star in A Quiet Place Part III
Paramount Pictures has confirmed that Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy will reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel of the acclaimed A Quiet Place franchise. Alongside them, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are also returning, with Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian joining the cast.
John Krasinski will return to helm the project, serving as writer, producer, and director. The film, titled A Quiet Place Part III, is scheduled to hit theaters on July 30, 2027. Krasinski announced the news on his social media platforms on Monday.
Krasinski’s production company, Sunday Night Productions, alongside Allyson Seeger, will produce the film in partnership with Platinum Dunes. The company has a first-look deal with the studio.
The A Quiet Place franchise has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over $900 million worldwide across three films. The original A Quiet Place premiered at SXSW in 2018, opening to an impressive $50.2 million during its first weekend and boasting a total domestic gross of nearly $153 million and a global tally of $341 million. The film also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Sound Editing.
A Quiet Place Part II, despite release delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, revitalized the box office upon its release in May 2021, starting with $57 million over the Memorial Day weekend. It ultimately garnered $160 million domestically and $297.3 million worldwide, earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Sound.
Last summer, the franchise expanded with A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel set in an apocalypse-stricken New York City. Starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, the film debuted to $52.2 million, ultimately reaching $139 million domestically and $262 million globally.
