- Elon Musk engaged in multiple communications with Jeffrey Epstein regarding visits to his Caribbean island, according to recently released emails.
- Musk labeled the release of these emails as “a distraction” in a recent post on X.
Recent emails released as part of the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein reveal that Elon Musk communicated with Epstein about visiting his Caribbean island on several occasions. These messages were made public by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on January 30.
In one email exchange from November 2012, Musk was asked by Epstein how many people he would bring to the island. Musk replied, “Probably just Talulah and me,” referencing actress Talulah Riley, who was his partner at that time. He then asked Epstein, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”

Another email from December 2013 shows Musk asking Epstein if there was a good time to visit while he would be in the BVU/St Bart’s area over the holidays. Epstein replied that there was “always space” for Musk and suggested they could “play it by ear.” It remains unclear if Musk ever visited the island, as he has previously denied doing so.
Further correspondence from 2012 highlights Epstein’s inquiry about whether SolarCity, a company closely associated with Musk, could provide power to his island or a New Mexico ranch. Musk noted that he followed up with his contacts at SolarCity regarding this request.

Musk responded to the DOJ’s release of these emails in a post on X, asserting that they represent “a distraction.” He emphasized that the emails do not indicate any wrongdoing on his part. “What matters is not the release of some subset of the Epstein files, but rather the prosecution of those who committed heinous crimes with Epstein,” Musk stated. He further mentioned that “this is all performative. Nothing but a distraction” if no arrests are made.
In another post, Musk insisted, “I have never been to any Epstein parties ever and have many times called for the prosecution of those who have committed crimes with Epstein.” Representatives for Musk have yet to respond to requests for additional comment.
Back in 2016, Musk told Vanity Fair he had never visited Epstein’s island, despite multiple invitations, and characterized Epstein as “obviously a creep.” Musk recounted at least one brief encounter with Epstein, indicating that he had declined invitations to travel to the island.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking of minors. He died a month later in what was deemed an apparent suicide while awaiting trial.
